Is there an off topic suitable for ATV maintenance?

I'm not getting anywhere with the online microfiche and free advice on sorting out the idle on a Yamaha ATV - otherwise I wouldn't bother with it here, :)
Where would I post those questions?

I have no issue with it here :drinks:  Or could post under dirt bikes dual sport, close enough...

What's the story with the idle?

OK. Thanks. It's a late 90's Big Bear 350. It had a gas-oil condition, first time I've ever dealt with one but recognized the symptoms right away. so I drained it all out, pulled the carburetor out and put in just the float seat and needle and gasket from a kit. Well it started up really nice, idles smoothly and runs healthy but I need to get the idle down. Way to high. Taking off is quite a jolt and of course hard to watch your slow speed driving. Choke plunger has no effect.

I read somewhere that possibly I have not routed the cable correctly where it inserts and wraps around the half "wheel" under the black plastic cover on the side of the carb, so the throttle is already open too much from cable tension. Or that there is an adjustment screw near the thumb lever on the handle bar.

When it comes to troubleshooting carbs, I don't like to tinker to where I am off the base line settings so far that I can't get back to it. So unless I see a clear diagram or a YouTube about how it is routed and how to fine adjust the idle, I'm not playing with it. Could also be a screw somewhere but I did not change any screw settings or replace any needles or jets.

The idle speed adjustment screw is at the bottom, just below the black plastic cover................
Take the cover off, and make sure the cable is correctly slotted in the "Half-Moon" throttle cam.
There should be a cable adjustment at the carburetor end to either take-up, or loosen slack, but there may be one at the throttle handle as well.
Make sure the cable is not being pulled tight, due to it not being routed properly........
