I found new set Cobra F1s mufflers for good price (€180).
I tried find out any information how it works on Fj1200 but I could find only few photos.

I am looking for opinion or even better ,,music" clip with this mufflers on FJ1200.

On my '84, I have had both style Cobra slip ons...the F1 and the larger diameter F-1R. I currently have the larger F-1R and I enjoy them, The smaller diameter F-1 are more quiet. Here's two picts from the gallery showing the small F-1 Cobras:

The weight savings vs the oem mufflers is significant.

What I found with the small diameter F-1's was that after a year or so,  1) the big FJ engine would blow the fiberglass packing out, therefore be prepared to drill out the aluminum pop rivets and repack with scrubbable stainless steel...not fiberglass....also 2) the back pressure would cause the heads of the soft aluminum rivets to pop out as the aluminum canister expands from the exhaust pressure. Plan on replacing the soft aluminum pop rivets with the next larger size steel pop rivets.

Sorry, I do not have a sound file. The F-1's are a mellow sound, very enjoyable, not much louder than stock...with no highway drone.

The larger diameter F-1R's are much louder, but the sound is glorious. (thank you David)

Hope this helps...Pat

I can't add much. Here are some Cobra F1R's.  Not as shinny as Pats. They are very light and I did repack mine.  The F1R's that I have you just took the clamp off and drifted out the center with a long wood dowel and repacked.  To me the sound is pleasant.  They are a straight through muffler much like a glass pack auto muffler. There are different materials you can repack them with.  And the do polish up nice.....

I believe those are the F1S Cobra slipons.  The F1R had a flush output.

Geez Pat....I noticed several specks of dust on your bike in those pics. Very disappointed.

You are probably correct.  They were on the bike when I bought it.  Took a heat gun and remove the ugly vinyl "Cobra" advertisements on the sides of the muffler.

This photo is so demotivating...... Make me sad when I look on my FJ..... So much work ahead me.  :dash1:

Don't see it as demotivating, if you can picture the end goal then that will make it easier . I've got a pretty sad looking '92 in the shed at the moment, every time I look at it I think it's a write off. But, as a long term project, complete rebuild, no rush, it should work out ok, I just keep picturing the end result.  :good2:
