Hi guys

New on here in the UK, just acquired a bit of a 1988 fj1200 project,  got it all up and running but currently chasing down a wiring fault with the digital clock. Can anyone tell me if the clock is hardwired on all the time and if so can I just run it straight from the battery to save me hacking the loom apart to find the fault or would this be too much of a drain?

Thanks

Pat Conlon

Yes, on my '92 the clock was on all the time. The current draw on the clock was minimal, never had a problem running down the battery.
You should have a hot wire feeding your ignition switch you could tap into...save you from running a wire back to the battery

The LCD clock runs all the time there is a battery hooked to the bike. I believe it is direct wired from the ignition fuse (there are some connectors involved but it is a direct circuit from the ignition fuse).
