Just wondering if anybody around Brissy / Sunny Coast has a seat that qualifies

for single seat rego i could borrow for a day or an old clapped out one that could be cut down?

As i never double it nearly halves rego and saves wrecking a good seat.

Timbo was looking at going down that path.
Not sure how far he went....

thanks for that Darran, id forgotten about that thread. I will look at trying to track down a rough old seat , modify it and go down the
single seat path.. Even if the seat coats a $100 it will pay for itself in the 1st 6 months, cheers , ken

Hi Ken and others, I havn't got around to doing mine just yet. I managed to get another seat off ebay that I'm going to modify.
Once done it will be up for lending. :drinks: .but advise if anyone is going to use their dual seat after changing there rego they could be
up for a reeming from those in blue if caught .... :dash2:
I was thinking about a extra fuel tank...or box of some sort so it doesn't look to out of place.
Below is a link to the FJR forum and if you read through things have become a lot eaiser, seems no road worthy or compliance plate is required now.... :good2:
Cheers Timbo...

Life's been good to me so far....

That sounds good Timbo, my plan is to get it rego'd as single seat, put normal seat back on but with no footpegs...

My thoughts on doing that are as long as your riding solo the boys in blue wouldn't be too concerned about the seat size would they?

I wouldn't have a drama with them throwing the book at me if i had a passenger though..    ken

PS Ive talked to a few members of a honda  enthusiast club, quite a few of them have done it and never had a problem with the law
besides a 500mm seat isnt long enough for my fat arse, lol..

I wonder what sort of seat the cop model FJs had, it would've been something short I would imagine so they could fit all the paraphernalia on the back. Might try google and try and find some pics.

Here's a link to an old FJ cop bike. The fairing is different but the seat to me looks standard. Must've been too hard to modify it.
