You're welcome. Maybe someone here will utilize what they offer, and report back.

Depending on the complexity of your idea, and the quantity that is ordered, will determine if it is cost effective to make your idea a reality. If your idea appeals to others, and a group buy is done, then it could probably happen.

Of course, if you have deep pockets, it's a no-brainer then, and a one-off, or two, is very much a possibility.

If you want to, throw your idea out, and see if others here want to pursue it. If you order a large enough quantity, the price of one may drop and make it more acceptable.

I keep thinking billet side scoops....if they were thick enough to survive most typical spills, I'd pay $200 to $250 a piece if I thought they were tough enough. I keep looking at 3D printers too. There are a bunch of hard to find plastic bits on FJs. Simple pieces would be easy to measure and create a file to produce them from, but scoops would most likely need to be measured on a coordinate measuring machine to get an accurate enough file to 3D print some good looking scoops.

I recently used this place http://www.forecast3d.com/ to do some SLAs for some development designs where I work. I was impressed by the toughness and appearance of their Watershed material that the parts were made of. If the scoops were made this way, the cost would probably be in-line with what you stated (unpainted). Doubt that you could get it machined in aluminum for that price. Would be pretty hard to hollow it out, plus keep the wall thickness minimal, and it looks like it would take a lot of passes to get its outer profile close to OEM's. Got to get a 3D model of the scoops somehow first.

I don't have any experience with the, but I looked into it about 10 or 11 years ago for some brake caliper adaptors.  I'm a cheap bastard and made my own instead. Spent a lot of time and mistakes on those - may have been a bargain in retrospect.

I'd think that would be enough time to either do well at a business or go bankrupt.
