But then when they shrug their shoulders

I called them yesterday and the tech I spoke to was not sure what to do. I am going to email them a copy of the OEM FJ wiring diagram and see what they can suggest.

I tried wiring the tachometer like Dads_FJ diagram. No change in the rpm's.  :dash2:

My next avenue to wander down is to connect the tachometer signal wire to the grey wire coming from the Coil Pick up to the Igniter.

Fred

Fred - did you try reconnecting the blue wire?

After speaking to the manufacturer, a few inquiries to fellow forum members and trying a few different on the bike wiring options. It has been determined that the Intellitronix Tachometer WILL NOT work with our engines. I have researched and found a suitable digital tach as a replacement.

This one is programmable to your exact engine type. I got it programmed and set up, works perfectly and looks a lot better than the other one. I am mucho happy with this one.

I used the Drift Iridium Red Tachometer http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/red-display-drift-iridium-gauges-55-c.asp

I would not recommend this Tachometer mod along with the Speedometer mod as a go to gauge mod to replace failing OEM gauges.

I am extremely happy with the final results,  :yahoo: IMO the aesthetics are awesome.....but there is extensive modifying of parts to make it a success. There is also the cost, $345.00 for both gauges.

If any member wants to take the leap and go this route, PM me for installation details.
