in gear wont move

ok so I changed my clutch plates on my 86 1100 and I pulled the clutch handle while it was apart!  how do I get the piece in the center to go back in all the way? I had put it all back together only to find this out later! I place it in gear and nothing plus the clutch was hard to pull!?!?

Take the clutch slave off, open up the bleed port and with your thumbs, push the piston back, close port, reinstall slave.
