Only now, I don't get the nice color codes and "NEW" message so I can tell what I've read and what I haven't so I have to look for the date/time of the last post to see if there's something new.

But that's probably just me.

Nope. you're not alone.  I do not get any result for "Unread" posts, so I simply go back in posting time -from the "Recent Posts" link until I recognize posts I've read, then work forward.  If I want to read a particular thread in context, I right click on the title and open in new window.  Funny thing is, Humans adapt to technology at least as much as the technology is adapted to them -generally speaking that is.

Yes Dan......exactly my method........works just fine for me.
PS. I'm using Chrome for my browser, so can't comment on how this works in IE or Firefox.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.

with IE i can just go to the main page.... the areas that have new posts are a different color..... i click on each one of those with the center mouse button which opens up a new tab .... i then center click on each show new post and then can click thru all the windows.... its easier than it sounds and no backtracking.

i like it alot.

Me, too.  Used to be able to hit "unread posts" and there'd be a list.  Now its blank, but obviously in "most recent posts" there are new ones I haven't seen yet.  Between that and the fact that its now blocked at work, makes it very frustrating.

Those that were having problems with the "Unread" button not working for them - please test it again and let me know if it works for you now.  I fished around and found some other cases of forums having the sporadic Unread button problem.  Someone suggested a code change and I made it.  So let's see if it works.

Also - you might try and "Clear" your cookies from your browser - and log out and re-log in and see if that fixes it.

Marsh, the only place I had been having trouble with the unread button was when browsing on my Verizon phone (LG enV Touch).

Whatever you did fixed it.     :yahoo:

But then that wasn't the biggest problem, that's why I almost never look at this site on there unless I'm extremely bored...  you know, kinda like when the Ravens game is the only one on TV.      :nea:

Excellent!!   :good2:    I'll keep my fingers crossed that this code change fixed the problem for good!  Please keep me updated via this thread one way or another...

Seems like it's working for me now.  I'll spot check it here and there and report any anomalies.

Thanks Marsh!
