Hi all, just a quick introduction. I recently became the owner of a 1992 Fj1200 after a friend of mine kindly gave it to me. It had been sitting in his garage (he runs a recovery and service firm in West London, Revolution Motorcycles) for over 10 years without running.

He decided that I had been without two wheels for long enough and took it upon himself to get the bike back on the road, after many hours and random parts it was in action again. I paid him for the parts used so he wasn't financially out of pocket, and I was on the road again.

I love the bike, its perfect for me (being tall I've struggled over the years with getting comfortable. Best bike I found was the Blackbird). But it does need some serious TLC on the cosmetics side. So I've decided to take it down the street fighter/cafe racer route.

I've been lurking here for a few weeks picking up tips, which I desperately need due to my serious lack of mechanical experience. Love the site and hope to be a part of it for some time.

I'm based in Nottingham at the moment, with half an eye on Spain next year. I'll be bringing the FJ with me though :D

Welcome to the group ! Sounds like you got a real good deal !  Let us know how it works out for you. The FJ is a pretty basic bike and easy as bikes go to service and keep running.  :drinks:

Hey BigDrunk!

I feel like I may have already met you during my days as a bouncer at a pub!

Welcome to the group and you have the BEST year FJ ever (although I may be biased)!!!  Chip away at issues one at a time on here and we'll get you sorted!   :good2:

Yours welcome!. I know a lot of FJ owners in Spain. Take a look at our 30th anniversary rally in Madrid last June
