Hi

I am a new member, living in Espoo, Finland. Yes, we do have a few weeks in summer when not all the roads are covered with ice. I got a -92 FJ1200 two weeks ago. Just love the bike and the torque it has from 2000 and up.
I am returning motorcyclist, 52 years old and 30 years without own motorcycle. Last summer I bought  a -88 535 Virago, very easy to drive but a bit small and my friends put it in ladybike gatecory. With bigger ego a 535 should be enought.
Now i have both, but Virago is for sale, actually we have an agreement with new owner, hope he comes with money next monday.
I'll do two weeks Sweden - Norway tour on August, hopefully bike can take it. 3-6 000 kilometers, debending if ferrys are used.

cheers, and sorry my bad english, I understand most and not stupid I am, just middleaged Finn.

Gonzo,
Welcome!

That is quite a jump from the 535 Virago to the 1200 FJ. But WHAT A JUMP!!!

Be careful and enjoy your ride.

Welcome to the group.  :hi:

There are a few FJ owners here that are from Norway and Finland, one or two from Sweden. A 6000 Kilometer ride should be no problem for the FJ. There is a member here that did a 19000+ Kilometer ride a few years ago across the United States and Canada.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

Welcome, your English is better than any of my other languages.  But you do need to learn one important word. Kookaloo, that moment when you have the throttle wide open in third gear.

I learned that new word yesterday, was not sure of the right way to pronounce it. "What a heck, let's try it anyway, I thought" and opened throttle staring to round meter allowing rounds go to top 8 000.  Still grin on my face, 14 hours later. Now I know, the pronounciation is not important,  Kookaloo is.

All is good then, happy to have you join in....
