Pretty much just like that. One day I had brakes, next day, I have a vague memory of them. Lever goes to the grip braking is barely there.

Thinking about it, I probably need a master cylinder rebuild.

Oh boy, that must have been fun.....any brake fluid leaking? If you still have the (old) oem rubber lines (you shouldn't) check for splits.

Both M/C level windows on my '85 OEM reservoirs were leaking. They looked cloudy and when I checked they were cracked...you could push your finger right through them. Original owner let bike sit for some time.

The most fun fun was in the fact that this happened at work, and I still had to get home.

The fluid is not gone - reservoir is full and there are no obvious leaks. However, I do have a leaking seal in one fork leg, which makes me think this may be an issue with an anti-dive unit. Or, just the main cylinder piston seal gone bad.
