Thanks for posting that up - sweet!   :good2:  "Doc" is a pretty damn good rider isn't he?

Please give us the details of this event.  How many FJs were there racing?  Is this something you guys do yearly over there?

fj1289

Their website is http://www.fjracer.com/#

They've been running in sanctioned races since 06.  Compete and win in a "vintage" class against first gen FZRs, etc.  Also run in a modern class and typically finish mid pack or better.  It started with Doc's bike and now they have a whole fleet out there!

WARNING - be prepared tp spend a bit of time on the website!

There were 6 racing last year but unfortunately 2 have decided not to continue due to personal reasons and another one is still undecided, so there could be 3 or 4 in 2010.  They maybe competing in a new championship this year which is a more modern class but more street based, will know more soon.

The photos I've take at each round since 2006 are here: www.fjracer.fotopic.net -  enjoy.

Pre 1990 OHC 5 valves per cylinder up to 1100cc.

I will be running my YZF600 in WERA V& mediumweight and Heavyweight this year.

Pre 1996 4-stroke water cooled twins up to 800cc.

All Honda CBR600F3 regardless of year, Kawasaki ZX6R up to 1997, Ducati 748 up to 2000 in Superstock trim other than tires, Buells - steel frames, no FI bikes, all years, stock displacement.

Vintage 7 Heavyweight

If there was enough interest I could see building an FJ to meet the V6 rules. It might be fun to run it. I will be running the North Central region... I am sure we have members in the NE and SE regions...

The rules etc are here:  http://www.wirral100.co.uk/  The FJ's have taken the top 3 slots in the forgotten era now for the last 2 years.

This is the new series they are thinking about entering, which would be streetstocks and pre injection - http://www.ngroadracing.org/

Kerry....... I just read the streetstock rules.......the wheels are to be OEM, but the tyres they are demanding are only in 17".

Sounds like a bit of negotiation is in order.

Harvy, I'm sure there's negotiations underway ;-)

Candieandy, they run custom 4-2-1 high level systems with a Akrapovic end can.
