Hi Guys, I'm John from South Australia, had my first FJ in '84 covered around 110,000 kms had a few various bikes after that and returned to the FJ fold about 10 years ago with a 1993 1200 that I've had ever since. Started looking around for something a bit more modern to replace it mainly to be able to use modern tires but love the simplicity of the FJ so decided to go the modification route with FZ1000 rims which brought me back to your group looking for info (I was a member on the Yahoo group a few years ago). Love the new site lots of familiar names from the old Yahoo site hope I can make some contributions, starting with the old problem of removing the lower steering stem race which I'll post under a new topic and hopefully add a photo if I can work out how to do it.

G'day and welcome John. Hope that weather you're having clears up soon. Riding over to SA next week, following the Murray River as much as possible. Coming back via the Great Ocean Road. Regards, Pete.

John, thanks for that kind offer. PM me with your contact details and if we're close by we'll take you up on that offer. At this stage, we're planning to head to Murray Bridge, so that doesn't seem too far from your location. Shame you haven't organised better weather for us. Anyhow we'll take what comes. We're leaving this Saturday morning with snow forecast for our ride over the Snowy Mountains, so rain might be a pleasant change for us.   Regards, Pete.   :drinks:
