:hi: Superb warm sunny day here, soooo, out came the FJ and the wee wife and off we went for a blast out Niagara Falls way. Down a few wee back roads that I like and in to Breezy Corners Restaurant for brunch. Cholesterol levels all pumped up, sit back to finish my coffee and this guy from a couple of tables over gets up, comes over, sticks out his hand and say "I'm from the period when those FJ's first came out and what a bike they were" I said "still is, names John, do you still ride" Yep, says he, names Andrew and I ride a KZ1 that I love but still not as good as the FJ"...I had caught an accent in there..."where are you originally from" says I..."Newcastle upon Tyne" says he..."Bugger, your a Geordie" says I, "I'm from Blyth just up the coast"... :good2: 18 years in Canada and only the third/fourth 'Geordie' I have met!!! He only lives about 20 Km's from me....

I gave him my business card and asked him to give me a call...A possible new riding partner that speaks my lingo :yahoo:

Off we went on our separate ways...me putting another few hundred klicks on the old girl... :good2:

Hmmmm, this time last week, I was on my way back to Canada after three days in Maggie Valley NC, riding 'The Dragon', Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner, etc..damn, me and this old FJ are having a load of fun getting older together :rofl2:  ... and I still have Nova Scotia coming up next month... :good2:

John.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Yes these FJ's are good conversation starters wherever you go. Was sitting in a book store one week ago minding my own business when a gentleman approached me after seeing the helmet beside me. "You must be riding that FJ out front". He had one back in his younger days and we had a long conversation until his wife tracked him down and retrieved him. He missed his and was still enthused about them.  Dave
A pistol is like a parachute, if you need one and don't have one you will never need one again.
