Pulled off the covers, out into the sunlight it came.

Installed the replacement button for the trip odometer.

Made a minor repair to the slowly disintegrating lower cowl.

Installed the battery.

Joined the fuel pump connection.

Turned the aftermarket fuel valve on.

Checked tires - <10 in the rear, 32ish in the front.

Put 40 in the rear 38 in the front.

Chain, ok. brakes - all feel good, same with the clutch.

Oil - AOK

Turn key on, hear the pump, pump stops, pull the choke and it fires right up withing a couple of turns of the starter, instantly, sounds good.

Grab the helmet, never mind the sandals shorts and tee shirt, time to ride.

So quiet compared to the XX, so smooth, so comfortable.

Great machines these FJ's.

You done a good thing. Give her some wax, she'll love you for it.

Took another ride this evening. The FJ1200 is am amazingly comfortable motorcycle. I only wish it had a 6th gear - and maybe some more umph.

Note: Blackbird still under cover (it's spoiled me in regards to power.....The FJ rules when it comes to comfort)

Took my wife for a ride - decided to see how well it fit her.

Then we rode the CBR1100XX, back to back, and I asked her which she preferred -

Anyone want to take a shot at guessing her preference between the 1989 Yamaha FJ1200 and a 2000 Honda CBR1100XX?

As a passenger -

Silly question, of course the FJ. My better half doesn't complain when she's on the back, though she's not too keen being on the back of my little Suzuki x7, and I think the bike feels the same way too.

I read somewhere that the most comfortable motorcycle seat for rider and passenger is on a Suzuki GS1000, my brother owned one but I never got to ride it to confirm it.

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

You're right, it was a silly question, and of course, the FJ won.

We had a GS1100E many, many years ago - it was similar to the GS1000 seat, and I'll confirm, it was comfortable, best of the time IMO.....

Best Last Day of May in memory.

Need to spend some time cleaning/organizing the garage, but I'm proving to be far more consistent in saying it rather than actually doing it.....
