I did a search through the search function and did not really find anything useful regarding these windshields

Anyone use them?  If so did you like them and did they fit properly?  They are made by a company called Zero Gravity and they are pretty cheap just wondering if anyone had experience with them.  Thanks

Zero Gravity is a popular name.  They are famous for the Double Bubble design.  I have never used them but I am sure someone here has.

The item you are looking at on e-bay is a second, so it will have some small issues.  Will it fit properly, the seller says it will.  At $45.00 you are paying a little over half of what it would cost to purchase directly for Zero Gravity.  http://www.zerogravity-racing.com/sportbikes/yamaha_sptbks/549.htm    You could probably find a discount store and pic one up for a little less that the $79.95 Zero Gravity is retailing it for.

Personally, if it's not a big deal about any inconsistencies in the 2nds windshield quality, you will probably be happy with it's overall performance.

I have heard that Zero Gravity FJ screens are pretty thin - but I have never actually used one.  If the price is right - I'm sure it will last for a couple years though.

I have one for my 86' and it fits well with nice angled edges so it goes seemlessly with the surrounding black. As for thickness, it's not thin or anything funny and it is hard, does not bend easily.

Don't mind the rubber edges around the windsheild in the picture, the guy I bought it from did that and I removed it and it looks allot better now, I just don't have a more recent picture.

Thanks guys for all the input.  I think I will go with them even if it is a 2nd. I don't mind a small perfection or two for that price as long as they are not super super thin.  Thanks

I have one of their stock replacements on my '87.  Good fit and finish, and is the same thickness as the Targa screen it replaced.  I think the ZG actually fits better than the Targa.

Now that I'm home, I measured mine just now and it's .090" thick, if that helps.

I have a ZG windshield like that.

Compared to the lockhart phillips (which may or may not be available anymore?) it scratches much more easily.

Ok new question.  I see that all of the windscreens are categorized into two parts 84-85 FJ1100 and 86-89 FJ1200.  Did they change the windscreens in between 85 and 86?  I have looked at both pictures of a FJ1100 and a FJ1200 and its hard to tell if they are different.  I know they moved the side mirrors and running lights around a little bit but I can not see a difference in windscreen.

Thanks

This site has the break down for each year.  http://www.eaglescreens.com.au/yamaha.htm   Eaglescreens is what I run on my bike.  I have stock and Lockhart as well.
