I just picked up an '84 FJ1100 for 400$ CAD. It needs some work. It hasn't run since last year. It turns over but it only backfires and won't start. I first need to clean out the fuel tank and get the plugs cleaned I suppose. It needs new tires and brake pads. The front fork might be leaking because there is an oily residue on the front right rotor. The rest is mostly cosmetic, paint and dent in the tank and missing the lower part of the fairing under the engine. I'll be posting questions soon.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Plow right in to those carbs. Get to know them good. I been tinkering with carbs for 44 years and never knew what I was doing. If I got them to work right, it was by luck. I joined this forum and learned how they work and how to fix them. In the last 5 months, I've had mine apart 6 times. I'm still a little fuzzy on some things but I'm gaining all the time. The carb files are awesome and so is the knowledge These guys have about them. Enjoy!!

Welcome!

welcome ! As noted ask questions first. It is a lot cheaper that way :). I would focus on getting it running first. Get a base line of what you have. Where in Canada are you located ? Not being nosy just that there may be other members in the area that can give you some help.
