"why don't more people use the FZ1 master cylinder, which is a direct bolt on replacement, which goes on without the need for custom made parts?"

Lots of folks that like the stock look have been using FZ1 master cylinders for some time now.

I like a clean simple look..

And your answer Eric is exactly the same as mine. Thanks!

The machined bracket looks like a lot of chips on the floor at the milling machine. I opted to keep the clamp cap, cut some short stand-offs, use longer bolts, and you can use a simple piece of sheet metal or L-bracket.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Do you guys know if I get a FZ1 MC off ebay and it doesn't come with a lever, will the oem from the FJ fit? Thanks

From what I can gather on part compatibility. No, a FJ front brake lever will not work with a FZ-1 master cylinder.

This only looks at the part number. The actual lever may fit and work, I can not give a definitive answer. Leon may be able to help.

Here is a list of compatible Yamaha models that have the same levers by part number for the FZ-1 master cylinder.

Same for me and the piss cup... Some guy sold me an entire r6 front end for like 150, blue spots/Mc/forks/rim+tire+rotor off his that he crashed. Sold the parts I didn't need, free parts.

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.
