Hey all,
My Honda F4i  shock mod is almost done (just need a couple spacers for the top mount), and unfortunately the centre stand has to go. I know I could mount the centre stand on an as needed basis to lube the chain and such, but a paddock stand would be nice. I was looking at the ones that lift at the swing arm but with the Suzuki under mount caliper, there isn't a whole lot of room. Has anyone here attached lugs to their swing arm for the other type of stand?

Not sure how much this will help, but here are pit-stand spools attached to my swing arm.  On the T-Ace arm they are threaded directly into a big chunck of Al, but I imagine you could mount on an FJ arm with a bolt through arrangement?

These spools work with the "pickle fork" looking things on the end of some stands.  Randy's "Movamoto" stand comes with these or with an L bracket end that can lift by the swing arm itself if you don't have spools.  I think for the stock FJ arm, I'd go with the L type ends...  maybe Randy can help guide you?

Yes, I have.  I used some 6mm thick Aluminum angle  and bolted it to the bottom of the swingarm forward of the travel range of the chain adjuster blocks.  Tapped the vertical face of the bracket and screwed spools in.  I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.  Previously I did use a paddock stand with "L" plates, but it was pretty fiddly to get located with the underslung caliper and brake line.

I picked up an aluminium stand today that is meant to be used with spools. It is adjustable to some extent, and could be modified to work with L plates. But after fiddling around for a few minutes I see what Arnie means, very finicky. The spools are definitely the way to go.
Arnie, I can picture exactly what you mean. I'm off on the hunt for some aluminium and some spools tomorrow.
Thanks
Kevin
