Hi All,

What is this hex nut? The engine is always a little wet here.  She does not leak any large amounts but she always has oil there. Easy fix I hope.

Oil filter galley plug.

It could be as easy as an o-ring replacement or the plug could be cracked, which still isn't hard.

Here is the oil galley o-ring

If you find the plug is cracked, let me know.

Randy do you have diameters on that. I would like to get it done this weekend. I would just order it from you but it takes 4-5 days to get to me. I may have one at my shop. When I pull this out will oil leak out?  Thanks

I don't, I just order them from Yamaha as they are metric and the fractional o-rings are either too small or too thick resulting in them getting cut and either way they leak.

Shipping is three days across the US, so Texas should be two.

I had that same leak and was able to match the o-ring up with one from the local hardware store.

Worth a try.
