Damper rod

Hey all
Should I use my original 84 damper rods in the later1200 fork sliders with my 84 stanchion's or later 1200 damper rods,because I notice the rods are drilled differently.

  Ok maybe I should re phrase this. Were the 89 1200 forks better in operation than the 84s. I cant use the 1200s tubes as they are bent so I will be using the 1100s is there an advantage to using the 1100s damper rods in the 1200s bottoms?

If you want to make an improvement to your forks, install a set of RPM fork valves & straight rate springs. This bypasses the OEM damper system with a modern and custom tuned fork valve. Having already done this upgrade I can say it is awesome. The front absorbs all the little bumps with zero fuss and feels really planted while cornering.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

You can use the 1100 tubes and the 1200 sliders. 

On the choice of damper rod, I would go with the 1200 d-rods or drill the 1100 rods above the step (or drill them similar to the 1200 units).
