There's a wrecked 2008 GSXR in my neck of the woods.
Would the rear wheel work on my bike or not?
In the Files section on this conversion it talks about using older GSXR wheels, not this new.
Thanks

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Short answer is NO. the 08 gixxer has a 28mm diameter rear axle.

long answer is YES with access to a machinist, how bad do you want it and at what cost are you willing to get it.
be prepared to modify; swingarm, brakes, cush drive, sprocket if you go down this road. Ive been down this road and would not do it again  :dash1:

My advice is to acquire the older model gsxr wheel that is plug and play and well documented in the files section.

IMO it is a can of worms.... Axel diameter, wheel width, sprocket off set, mounting rear brake calipers etc, etc..  I would go with what has proven to work and you have some support.  When you break new ground you are pretty much on your own.  If you are up to it with the skill level, frustration, time and money then it will be a good read for the rest of us.  I say that from experience. :good2:
