Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Flasher Relay part 2UJ-81950-00-00

Does anyone have tips on troubleshooting turn signals for and 1989 FJ1200 California model. (no ABS)

I looked up the 89 Fj flasher:

Diff part number than you have listed.  This is a very common flasher on Yamaha bikes....I expect most any one selling parts on craigs list for any of the bikes listed here might have one.  Go for a 2011 one if you can.

Before you go to all that trouble...

I'd think there would be a SoCal FJer who'd be willing to try your flasher unit in their bike to see if it works or not.   

Okay, since that comment apparently wasn't especially well received, PM me your contact info, and we'll figure out a way to find out if you really have a bad flasher unit before you chop wires or invest in new parts you may not need.

Today is Saturday again my FJ is still at the shop. I am going to walk down there now to see what the status is.
Thanks for the posts yesterday and the suggestion to try the flasher unit in a good bike or a good flasher unit in my bike.

The shop was closed up during Sat. when it is normally open.
I guess I will call on Tuesday when they open back up.
