pet cock o-ring?

Hey all,
I took my pet cock outlet elbow out today, preparing to safety wire it. I noticed that there is a groove for what looks like an o-ring, but there is no o-ring. The ID diameter of this o-ring would be something like 10.4mm (.41") and the width would be something like .3mm (.05").  Of course the elbow & o-ring aren't shown separately on the Yamaha Parts List. I also cant find an o-ring online at that width (very small).  Who know's how long the o-ring has been missing, but to my knowledge the elbow has never leaked.

Now for the question
1. Does anyone know if there is an o-ring between the elbow and pet cock
2. If so, does anyone know what size it is?
3. Assuming the o-ring is unobtainable, does anyone have any ideas for a sealant/epoxy that is fuel resistant and could be used instead?

I'd prefer not buy a new assembly for $190 for a silly o-ring

I just looked at my spare petcock. I do see the small grove in the elbow. The best of my knowledge is that there is no o-ring that goes there. The elbow is just press fitted into the petcock, hence the need for safety wire.

The groove is actually there for the factory sealant/epoxy that was used to install the fitting. Once the fitting has come out they usually leak. I have not found, in all of my years, an sealant/epoxy that is impervious to fuel. All that I have tried have broken down over time.

If you get it back in there, keep an eye on it for leaks because they equal fire...Yearly FJ Petcock Safety Announcement

If you look at a new petcock as an investment in the bike you have had for 24 years and you get another 24 out of it, then the cost of the petcock spread over the next 24 years is going to be $7.91 a year.
