I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

"If you wanna bark with the big dogs, you can't pee with the puppies!"

Had a bit of a hiccup today.   I had the engine checked and a  roadworthy test done.    Earlier I took my wheels to another dealer and had two new tyres fitted.   Unfortunately they fitted two different speed rated tyres which I am now informed will not pass roadworthy.    Anyway getting a new front tyre and hopefully returning the other front tyre to the the other dealer for a refund.  Otherwise all is good.

DUNLOP GT501.   120/70H17 on front and Rear was:  USA 'V'.    You would think a dealer would know not to put two different rated tyres on.   In their defense I did just drop the wheels off for fitting.

Without being pedantic,is the bike ''92 and the fairing for an "86 "police issue/variation given the square base on the screen .just curious.

We have big white BMW solos here in Victoria.  White helmets and fluro bike jackets.     I don't know if an old fat bloke in a black helmet and dri rider will have the same effect of traffic.    I plan to ride this to work regularly so I will however have the same blue uniform on beneath my jacket.

A mate of mine who I ride with in Sydney has an ex police ST1100 and people do react when they see it, he rides daily to and from work and reckons he gets said reaction at least twice a week.

As he does not log on to this forum I can say he is "an old fat bloke in a black helmet and dri rider" so you may be in luck  :hi:

On the old police bikes, my mate has a std ST1100 and the ex police one, the police one has well thought out handle bar risers and lay out, heaps of additonal switches which he is using for other electrical equipment and a double the std rating alternator, so he is very happy, he is now using the std one for spares.

I have kleptomania,
but when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Had the FJ out on the road over the weekend and last couple of days.   Pretty happy with it so far.   Yes people do hesitate to overtake when they approach from behind.
I think I need to have the carbs tuned as I did 70km tonight and used a 1/4 of a tank of fuel.   Carbs also leaking onto the garage floor when parked there.   Intermittent problem at this stage.

Sorry ROSCO.
I don't know where the faring came from.    Eagle Screens in West Aust replaced my screen and it was described as FJ 1200 police on their website.    The faring is made of fibreglass with white gelcoat on outside.
