just completed mods. wanted the rear end to look a bit narrower......the indicators have achieved this. Would have been better if they were round, but they will do the trick.
The GP style exhaust was a cheapy from India or somewhere..... its just on there till I get a warning from the constabulary about the noise, then I will go back to the Micron.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.

The signals came out nice with the mounting and all, I had a set like that on mine, but I am leaning back towards the larger stocker or depending on the brightness, they have some 14 led small ones on ebay I am considering, I will take a little visibility over style with the crappy drivers in this town.
What swingarm is that?
I would go back to the micron exhaust .

2002 FZ1 swingarm, 2005 FZ1 wheel.
I will not be touring with the GP exhaust!!!!!.... yep I can swap back to the Micron in about 5 mins......they both fit on the same header.

You could add a little extra to it and paint it black, go for that 2 stroke look, some knobby tires, its a whole new style!
I have no room to talk, I will be patching my vhr exhaust with low temp aluminum welding , we will see ow that goes, had it for 1000 years, never used it yet.

Like the beefy swingarm, I guess its another thing I will have to research.
Penske shock back there?
Was it a lot of modding for the whole swingarm?

You've done a lot Harvey!
Not much original back there.
I will have to pick you brains for some clues- if I may.
Looking real nice!!
I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

TeeeeCeeee..... long time no see.
Yep, that's true, but its only a temporary situation with that exhaust......its really is too noisy for everyday use around town, and as for touring....well I really would not want to do 7 or 8 hours with it like that.....I recon every cop within 100km would know of my whereabouts.
Funny thing is it makes more noise at low rpm (like 60kph in top gear) than at 3000-4000rpm....... or is it that the sound gets left behind the faster you go.....

Anyway, as I said, its not staying on there....back to the Micron can when I've had my fun showing those HD riders what a noisy exhaust really sounds like.

What have you been up to lately mate.....and what are you riding now-a-days?

Yes, Frank M / Steve C / and Eric M were my guides for the FZ1 rear-end upgrade.........Frank's write-up is the way to go.
NO........ a Penske is the NEXT upgrade for the rear......... and then it will be a front end swap.....not sure what yet....it will be a while in the future.......trouble being finding something here in Aus that is useable.....its not so easy finding a front end at a "reasonable" price.

Cheers

Hi Harvy,

I've been lurking in the background of late, got rid of all my bikes and just kept the YZF750 as it has very low K's on the clock and a alloy frame so corrosion is not as big a problem with it here in the tropics.

The frame/etc. of my FJ was starting to rust within twelve months of restoring the bike which really pissed me off and I just didn't have the time to maintain three road bikes let alone exercise them regularly.

Having said that, the YZF has been off the road for months as I've gone to town turning it into a Scott Russell replica (Daytona '97), it should be back together within a few weeks looking better than new.

I really do regret selling my FJ1100 as it was such a "special" bike. I've been looking for a replacement of late but just can't seem to find one that doesn't require major work or a full rebuild. Having taken a few FJ's for test rides it's really only now that I appreciate how potent my old 1100 was.

TeeCee  :sorry:
