FJ's for sale seem to be drying up?

I am not sure how many of the rest of you do this but when bored I search for FJ's for sale just to see whats out there and what they are selling for etc. Been doing this for a couple years now. Well lately it seems like the supply has dried up. I live in a major metro area and there was always at least one on craigslist. Lately theres been absolutely nothing though. Could be the time of year but like I said in past there always seemed to be a couple to check out. Nowadays not so much.
Anyone else notice this too?

Sounds like it has the bent shifter fork problem though...

I will say that when I was searching for my own bike, the FJ's were rarer than say, Suzuki GSs or Honda Interceptors.  Kawasaki GPzs seemed pretty common, too.

I bought mine off ebay. I don't see too many come up on ebay. But when they do it always seems like none, then 2 or 3 at a time.  I am the 3rd owner. The first two were old men like me who didn't feel the need to have the newest or fastest motorcycle every year like younger guys. So they hung onto it like I will.  Dave

I've been looking at FJ11-12 ads for years and there have never been a lot of them on the market down in Texas.  You would go for months without seeing one.  I always figured it was the car racers that were scooping them up and that the folks that had them kept them. Up here in the Seattle area for the last couple of years I noticed you will rarely see more than one and often none at all.

Over the years I've noticed that offerings seem to be seasonal. More sales in the late spring, summer and early fall....winter, not so much. The best low mileage FJs come from the cold weather states as long as they were kept in a garage. I found my '92 in Lafayette Indiana with 8,200 miles on the odo. The guy wanted $2,200 for her....

Overall, I'm not surprised to see the FJ offerings dwindle. People are discovering that for the amount of power, comfort and range you get vs the cost, they are a screaming deal. One of the best bang for the buck out there.

 Funny I was thinking the same thing. I check usually twice a week on Kijiji. The only ones that last are overpriced. Anything priced right sells in a few weeks tops. For so little money they cannot be beat.

There's a few on eBay in Australia. A couple that are over priced, ads been there a while. Got to admit one thing. When I do take mine out it gets a few looks. Have had a couple of people approach me at different times saying " I had one of those some time back, great bike. Wish I still had it." Now over here in Victoria, Australia you can have CLUB PERMIT registration when the vehicle turns 25 years old. Join a club for about $60 a year . Then get club permit reg Normal reg is $650 to $700 a year. CLUB PERMIT registration is $66 for 45 days or $132 for 90 days that's over a whole year any day any time and any state except WA for those 45/90 days. Makes better sense than full reg unless you ride everyday. The old bikes and cars have jumped in price tremendously over the last 5 years as now it's affordable. Particularly if you've already done the club reg.
