I'm with George. As long as it's within 1500 miles of home, I'm in. :music:

Hell George, Let's plan on riding down together, I'll swing by and pick you up.  :drinks:

Sounds good. Probably quicker for me to pick you up. The pressure is going to be on to get the FJ back up to snuff...

I'd like to toss out another idea for general location...  how about we go just a bit south like Solvang and ride some of the beautiful central coast and inland roads in that area?  Great locale that splits travel between our SoCal and NorCal folks more evenly.  If that sounds interesting, I'll look into places to stay.

Frank

No argument here!  There are some great roads and wineries in that area!!!  Los Olivos has one of my favorite Zinfandels (Arthur Earl) and is well known for Sirah in the southern part of the valley.

I'm going to 'Bump' this thread in an attempt to get the conversation started back up...

Re-Bump...  we need to get this rolling and make some reservations.  Another option would be the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA in Watsonville.  Good location for riding coastal range to the north or south, or for heading inland...  dial the rides to suit the temperature at the time.  That's my one concern with East Central Valley.  I wasn't at Porterville, but it was a scorcher.  CA coast is guaranteed to be in the Goldilocks zone (maybe a bit of fog) in early June.

Marsh - are you going to head up the 2014 WCR?

We should make a final decision on a location sometime this month before places start to get all booked up. It also allows people put in for vacation from work.

Any of the above locations are fine with me, we just need to settle on one.

I'm up for another go this year  :good2: last 2yrs have been a real learning  curve
So when you decided on where I will book or get someone to book for me, might even bring a companion to keep me warm on those cold nights  :blum1:

At  last year's rally it seemed like Willits KOA was the spot for 2014.  Has this changed?

So many great roads, so little time. As long as the WCR takes place somewhere on the west coast, and people turn up - then it's a rally.
How about that ranch in the middle of nowhere with the great food?
Perhaps we should poll. Were's that add poll button thingy?
