I am in the process of getting my 1984 FJ600 back on the road and I know someone that is going to give me their calipers from their 1992 FJ1200. Will these calipers work woth my bike? What sort of modifications would need to be done? Mine are single piston and these are dual piston so I was thinking it would be an upgrade.
Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Lets see... The rotor diameter needs to be the same or similar so the calipers will be in proper position. The bolt pattern on the forks need to match distance between the bolts and distance from the rotor. Not all calipers are the same distance from the rotor. The distance from the mounting surface needs to be the same to keep the calipers centered on the rotor. When you get them you can test fit them and get a feel if they will fit... Not many people here will have much info on mods for FJ600 bikes, rare as hen's teeth they are....

No chance. Totally different things altogether.
Maybe a total front end swap might work, though that would depend on the headstock bearings being the same and the lower yoke stem length.
I use www.cmsnl.com to cross reference part numbers for compatibility, www.partsnmore or equivalent over the pond might be of some use to you.
