Thanks for all the advice. I went and got some snap ring pliers and removed the ring but the pole is still stuck. I tried some needle nose pliers to try to pull it out but i stopped cuz i didnt want to damage something withouy asking first. should I use something else? Thanks again for the help.

Wrap a shop towel around the lever end of the bore and carefully apply some air pressure to the hose end.

You can try putting the whole MC in a pot of boiling water, heat works wonders.

JPerez

I will try those as soon as I am done watching football.

How long should I boil it for? Just a couple mins?

A BRAND NEW Master Cylinder assembly does not cost that much.

You might want to save yourself some aggravation...

Besides, your life depends on your brakes, right?

5 min should be enough. you do have a rebuild kit, right?

after you get it all apart you need to really clean the bore real good as well as the groove that the snap ring goes into.
inspect the bore. this should not have been this difficult to come apart. if after a good cleaning and inspection if there is any
galling or pitting throw it away.

Steve is right, they are not expensive.

I will probably buy a new one anyway... This will give me something to do tho when I get bored.

I have a MC in my garage that is in perfect condition. I get home in a month, if you haven't fixed it by then I will send it to you for free.
