Are any of the seals in the FJ1200 clutch MC rebuild kit compatible with the FJ1100 MC? Mine has developed a leak so I'm looking at resealing it (assuming of course I won't need any hard parts), but I really don't want to spend the money being asked for an FJ1100 MC kit.

Nope, I have had several customer buy the 1200 kit for the same purpose and then return it because none of the parts, other than the dust boot were the same.

It is a completely different piston design.

Thanks Randy, I figured that would be the case.

I'm thinking about maybe just swapping in a used MC from an 86 or up instead. That way if and when I have to rebuild it I'm not paying an arm and a leg for a kit. Are there any issues I can expect with that?

You will have no issues with swapping a 1200 master cylinder to your 1100. Direct swap, no modification required and the wires hook up the same.

I have a stock '89 m/c on the shelf... worked fine when removed, but you'd have to flush any remaining DOT5 out of it.

If you want it, just let me know.

:wacko1: Uh, well I guess I forgot to post that I ended up buying a set of universals with urine cups to try out. Got the front brake one installed and bled yesterday (and bypassed the AD at the same time), will do the clutch next weekend.
