Thanks to a deal from my new bud Scott, I installed a used but good Yoshimura 4 into 1 exhaust! It came off a bike that sat for 8 plus years, so I took the wire wheel to it then hit it with some satin VHT. Thanks again Scott!

Looks great! Color me envious. whatever that color may be.

I want to install a performance exhaust system on my bike. How much weight does it remove & do you need to modify your jetting any?

Thank you

I'm pretty certain my FJ was running rich to begin with, so I'm not planning on rejetting just yet. I'll watch the mileage and pull the plugs after a while and see how things look. As far as weight goes, I don't know. I think I read the stock system weighs something like 50 or 60lbs? This Yoshimura setup is very light compared to stock; if I had to guess I'd put it under 20lbs.

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

Fjowners.wikidot.com/exhaust should have some weight info.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the stock exhaust is 38.5 lbs.

As my mufflers are off today I weighed them for the curious. They are old Cobra F1 s. I just repacked them with some ceramic fiber and the the left side was 5.24 and the right side 5.18 so my total is 10.42 Lbs that's up to the mid collector box.  :good2:
