Just 20 year old fuel line in a high heat and solvent environment most likely. There are some long term maintenance issues that crop up with all older machinery. Spent most of my life with older airframes, things come up that the manufacture probably thought would never happen because the aircraft would be replaced long before it would start failing. Little did they think C47's / DC-3's, would still be flying. Anything that is rubber and 20 plus years old needs a good look at. Its like having 20 to 30 year old tires with good tread......, probably not long for the world  Best to replace it on your own terms and time not in a rain storm along side the freeway. Good catch.  :hi:
