Well after having he FJ staring at me in the garage for nearly a year its finally CLUB PERMIT registered and going. Havent taken it out yet until I figure out the minor probs with the carbs if it is that. which I just posted about. I have to say its been more than a challenge to get this far and hopefully worth it. Sure was a nice feeling to be handed the number plate without any issues.  :i_am_so_happy:  Now even the way it is,  I can relax a bit, tackle this task, fix it  and with the warmer weather coming up enjoy a few rides. I was at the VICROADS office yesterday and the lady serving me said there is an increasing trend in club permit registration on old vehicles / bikes. Must be something to do the astronomical rego fees.   Jeff

Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...

Goodonya Jeff.
I recently also had a win at VicRoads.  My license had faded so badly that you couldn't read the number or the expiration date on it and it still had several years before it was supposed to expire.  VicRoads wanted me to pay for a replacement.  I maintained that the license was defective and should be replaced with no charge to me, that it was "not fit for purpose" as the Trade Practices Act defines it.  Eventually, after explaining this to 3 different VicRoads flunkies, they agreed.
BTW  The replacement is made differently and probably by a different supplier.  It should last until I need to renew it in a couple of years.
