I doubt it is the petcock, but checking the diaphragm never hurts. Been riding for over a year since I last checked the tank, and about 8 months since I changed a fouled plug. About a month ago is struts red for 4-5 secs at highway speed then cleared up. I will do the float check mentioned. Sadly I have a 4into 1 pipe to feeling the exhaust is useless.

don't be sad... you still have four exiting the engine like this, although not as shiny I bet:  I use the back of my hand to 'test', but Harbor Freight or Northern tool have some inexpensive thermal readers.

Have you pulled the plugs to see if there are any clues there to isolate the problem ?  :good2:  Hope you don't mind the digital pile up here to fix your bike .

Duh, how stupid can I be? Of course I can check the pipes. Thanks for breaking me out of my mind block!
