Hi, I have just joined too with a 86 fj1200 and live in Laura in the Flinders Ranges. Are you anywhere near me? Finding this forum pretty useful for sorting out glitches, Cheers Roger

Thanks guys for all your help, I have performed the mods to the flap and then removed the tank this morning to find a new petcock but sure enough the fuel lines were routed the wrong way and kinked. Not only that but then he cut the excess line so it now it wont reach. I have found some old fuel hose off a wreck to test it out as I live in the backwaters which stop living on a Sunday. I am going to replace all the lines next week but here's hoping it all fixed.

   Roger, if you're going to replace the fuel line with fuel hose bought from an auto parts retailer, I suggest you buy fuel injection hose. It's a bit more expensive but less likely to kink when it gets heated from the radiated engine heat. Another tip, DON'T try to fit an in-line fuel filter to the system. You'll create more problems than it's worth.  Been there, done that!   Pete.
