Title: Brake rotors
Post by: roryd on August 10, 2013, 07:59:30 PM
Hello All,
It's time to replace my rotors. I was wondering what brand to buy. I'm also going with stainless lines.
This is for a 1985 fj1100. Thanks any and all advice.

Thanks
Rory

My recommendation would be these.

Fred, just wondering why you are recommending these, with so many people here and elsewhere 100% happy with the 'Arashi' rotors, complete, for much the same money. Just bolt on and ride away.
These need to be riveted to the existing hubs and the rivets don't appear to be included.

I am pretty sure these are Arashi. On the 1100's and the 86'/87' 1200's there is no center hub for the rotors. The Center hub is part of the wheel. These rotors will bolt directly to the wheels just as they are.

Pretty sure your right fred, these are the same as I used on the standard 16" rear on the 1100 wheel , so as you say should be a direct fit to the 11 .

Thanks Fred, that would be why.

I bought these discs a few months back on Fred's  :good2:. Rebuilt the original calipers and have steel lines and all in all it's made a huge difference in stopping the ship. :good:
