Title: what is the stock sprocket size for an 86
Post by: fjpaul802 on June 11, 2013, 04:05:57 PM
I am sure that this is already on the forum in many places, but I can't find it and I am getting very frustrated.  Could someone please tell me what the stock sprocket sizes are on an 86 1200, thanks.

thanks, I just ordered a 42 and 17 to put on with my new chain.  I live in vermont, USA. We have the interstate highway, but other than that its mostly twisty turning mountain roads and traffic. I was thinking that I don't need to go over 120, but I would like to get there fast, Do you think that I picked a good sprocket combo for what I'm looking for? thanks again.

You'll be fine with that combo :-)  I question your need to only go 120 (mph I assume), but you'll surpass that easily.  The FJ12 has enough torque that any of the sprocket combos would have met your criteria.  Just make sure you're pointed in the right direction when you start twisting that go control.

+1  :good2:

I do agree with Arnie here.
Have tried with several different sprocket combo, and every time when the needle passes 6000 rpm, hold on tight! No matter what sprocket combo, the FJ still kick some serious a¤#!  :good2:
