Title: Front Indicator / Running Lights.
Post by: biggo on June 05, 2013, 01:59:26 PM
Hi

My 1993 FJ1200 has single filament bulbs in the front indicators.
I would like to fit bulb holders with twin filament bulbs so the indicators double up as running lights.
The connector plugs to the bulb holders have three wire with one coming on with the lights so what I am looking for is either the part number for the double filament bulb holder or where I may be able to buy them and get shipped to NZ.

Cheers  Phil

:hi: Try your local auto parts store(s) mate...explain to them that what you need is an 1157 (twin filiment) bulb holder.

Interesting... My 1990 came with running lights. I thought they all did. Is it a US/NZ difference?

I didn't realize my blinkers were also running lights until I replaced the bulbs. But they are.

Are you looking for the entire bolt on signal light including stalk and lens or just to swap out the actual bulb socket?

rough example:

For an entire unit, I installed new signals using 1157 dual element bulbs for under Cdn $20 each. I can't pull up the EMGO catalog this minute but they have hundreds of match ups to OEM styles.

Hmmm, mine are running lights, both are on at all times apart from when indicating, then one flashes and the other turns off.  I'll take a picture of my socket and bulb.  I only replaced the bulbs a few months ago - go them at Super Cheap.

Be right back....

Here they are.  The bulb is a single filament, it has "12v 21w J11" on it.

Hope this helps....
