Before I order replacement bulbs (#194) I want to ask if the yellow/amber color on the speedometer and tach and fuel gauge is coming from colored bulbs or is there a plastic film in there making the yellow tint?
Gauge cluster bulbs all the same. Clear
Good news then. My friend should have them in stock, saving a special order. Thanks.
:hi: Charlie...I have clear #194 bulbs if you need some.
During the FJ's winter maintenance programme, one of the things I did was to change out EVERY light bulb that my FJ carries!! Its amazing how much difference new bulbs make...old ones tend to loose some of there luminosity :boredom:
I changed the dashboard gauge lights to RED...makes a nice glow :good: All the rest are clear bulbs...
#194 bulbs are available in a variety of colours...Red, Amber, Yellow, Blue, etc.

The bike is my "daily wheels" for the time being so I try to plan the work in chunks of time that keep me mobile.
Knowing the gauges will be illuminated in yellow/amber even with clear bulbs is the question. i.e. is there a yellow film somewhere in the cluster?
So when I open it up I'm ready with the correct replacements on hand to get the colour I'm after.
Thanks again.
BTW, the high output surface mount LEDs blow the doors off the traditional plastic encapsulated LEDs. They are opposite ends of the candlepower spectrum with traditional incandescent bulbs somewhere in the middle.
Just don't put an LED in the Low Fuel light. :nea:
Yes there are different color plastic lenses on the idiot lights. Under the lens with the words the bulbs that illuminate the guages have no color or any lenses
:hi: Charlie...ALL the OEM dash light bulbs are clear #194.
