These knobs break, too, but being $2 at any hardware store, you can replace them as often as you like.

My bike was missing it when I got it, I just went looking for things that appeared suitable.

Any chance you could update that link?  I know it's kind of an old post, but I can't really make out from the FJ pictures what's really being used for the button and that Home Depot link is dead, so I'm not even sure what I'm really looking for.

Thanks,
lunchbeast

Yamaha does not offer a replacement, other than in the '86-'93 Speedometer Cover Lens (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3ASpeedometerCover).

I have this Yamaha FJ Odometer Reset Boot (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3AODOBOOT) to offer.

I know this is a topic about aftermarket rest button, but I do have the Yamaha FJ Odometer Reset Knob (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3A29L-83578-00) in stock.

I have this Yamaha FJ Odometer Reset Boot to offer.

I need one too Jools, it broke after pushing reset button quite a few months ago.

Randy does this boot go into hole and seal for weather?
Does the Knob just pull out?

Cheers Alan

The boot goes down inside of the hole of the lens. It, by itself is not water resistant. I have been told many time that a little clear silicone on the big end of the boot during the install seals it. I personally have never tried it.

The button is actually threaded onto the small shaft.
