i really loved my 84 fj1100 bought in 88 bored, stroked , nitrogen rear shock (fox), prog springs and some nos, and four into two tuned kerker...and a lockhart fiberglass lower fairing, (must i mention the numerous speeding tickets and rear tires?)
so i paid too much trying to get back my 84fj some ahole ripped after three attempts, the thief ripped up my cyclone fence and loaded the thing into a truck with a few of his douche buddies, or thats what "witnesses" said, but you know what i was fn mad for years (funny how those younger years seemed so volatile....)
putting my rat 85 back into safe and sane condition has been a cathartic activity.....MAJORLY THERAPEUTIC, who would have guessed spending too much money and time on rebuilding an old 85 fj1100 could have been like a 12 month zanax script and ya cant ride a little script bottle either!
when i fired that thing up after using the fj technical forum to completely rebuild my carbs i set up my temp fuel tank (an old and used booze flask (cheap plastic!) it ran like a watch after a little tuning of course ive had the thing apart to the bones and rebuilt almost EVERYTHING$$$$$, but thats ok cause shes mine and even if it got peeled tomorrow no one can take away what we have both been through to the end and through hard work, research and some help (ON THIS SITE!!!) the abortion will ride stately and proud again, even if only to me;-) THANKS TO EVERYONE ON THIS SITE -RPM-AND I BELIEVE IT WAS RANDY THE CARB GOD<if its not randy i apologize but you know who you are- the carb tutorial was FN KICK A**
i will try and upload some of the pics ive taken of my progress so far ~it runs great just now sorting out the rebuilt hydraulic systems and prepping fiberglass for the cheap paint im puttin on her....
Pics please! Both the good and the ugly!
Actually, I believe it was slowoldguy (why can't I remember his name right now?) Who wrote the carb tutorial. Recently left the forum, though, sadly.
