Stupid question, but maybe....
Has anyone weighed any of the stock wheels? I'm curious if there's much weight difference between the FZR1000, YZF6, <otherwheelthat'dfit>, and FJ wheels. With or without the discs but without any rubber, so long as it'd be apples to apples numbers.
I'm guessing that the difference in weight between the wheels would be smaller than the difference between tires that fit, but I'm just curious.
I dunno about the fronts, but someone one on the Yahoo group once said the YZF600 rear is 6 lbs lighter than the stock FJ rim.
If it helps I have a stock front wheel out in the garage without front rotors and a Dunlop tyre on it that I could weigh if you would like that number.
Trivia note: My 1990 with a full tank of gas, GSXR rear, FZR front, Cobra cans, Michelin PR's, F4i shock weighs in at 569 LB's. The fuel weight is around 30 lbs so roughly 539 lb's empty. That's with digital bath scales weighing the rear and front wheels and combining the weight. I don't remember the number but the distribution was surprising close to 50 / 50.

Funny, I have 86 FZR1000 front wheel with out rotors and bolts. It does have a new tire on it. Bathroom scale said 19.4 lbs.

1990 FJ front wheel no rotors, no bolts, one bearing and center spacer removed = 19.2 lbs Dunlop Sportmax 120 / 60 / 17 tire on it.
