hi , my barnett clutch upgrade turned up this arvo, anyway fitted it, its a bit heavier to engage with the standard M/C but its not untolerable, i took it for a test drive tonight and boy is it f@#kin fun, before the upgrade it would slip abit from 6 onwards, not anymore,, wow :good2:
I've heard mention hear abouts that the 1300 m/c brings that heavy ness back to normal. (popcorn) :bye2:
I'm getting use to it and for now aren't to concerned with it, but down the track if a suitable m/c came up cheap id certainly look into it,

Thanks for the info, when my powerband hits at 7,000rpm the clutch lets go - (new OEM plates, barnett hub), so I ordered the heavier barnett springs from Randy.
I was worried whether the lever would be too hard. I hope this fixes my problem with the clutch. My next step is to avoid hitting the rev limiter under power.

gday bozo, i only used the standard coil springs that went with the barnett coil spring setup, i measured every friction plate and checked all the steel plates for warpage as well as replacing the inner narrow friction plate with the wider one, as far as fitting the heavier springs go i cant say with any experiece in the matter with them but id have to assume they would increase the clutch pull, i could be wrong, i having done some hard accelaeation with this setup and so far havent felt a hint of any slipping.., when i rebuilt the clutch in my 2 stroke rocket, the slightlier heavier springs i used at 1st were just to much, went back to gen yam and all was well, user friendly and no slip in the band,

Ken, my clutch plates (fibre/metal both Yamaha, barnett were crap in comparison) are fairly new and as stated previously I fitted the Barnett outer plate and springs.
My engine has some extra horses now and all of a sudden at 7,000rpm to >10,000rpm it just lets go. I have to admit I never felt an extra hard pull when I changed from standard to Barnett, I do have a kawasaki ZX1100 clutch master cylinder though (my OEM was badly worn).
I have emailed Randy and like you he has suggested the wider plate so I might try that as well. Originally I did try the extra plate but found that my clutch "dragged" and it was hard to find neutral, as it turns out the master cylinder was the culprit
