Title: Exhaust / muffler question
Post by: FJ12 on May 11, 2013, 05:32:23 PM
Hi all, can anyone tell me if a stock exhaust off an 88 model would fit my 93, mainly want to use the mufflers but would probably change the whole lot. I am just not sure if mounting bracket on muffler is in same spot as mine so don't want to buy if not compatible.

Thanks
Colin

The mount point may be slightly different, I'm not certain.
However, if so it is easy to make a little bracket to get it to fit.
Talk to FJ11.5 (Rod) who is also in Burnie, he'll know.

use the search function! im pretty sure I have seen this question several times, and from what I can remember you just have to make new brackets because they are a little different....but then again I have horrible memory :drinks:

The mufflers mount differently on the '91 and later models. They have a frame loop and I think it's lower than the sideplate mounts on the earlier bikes...

No worries mate, , I was out today for an hour or so, great weather, just a little cool,  mainly heading back into the hills
