Title: Oil change mistake?
Post by: Riolongo on April 23, 2013, 11:35:38 PM
I just changed the oil for the first time on my 92 FJ 1200 and mistakenly put the wrong oil in, need to know if this is a concern or not?

The bike had Maxima Extra4  High Performance 4 cycle 100% ester based synthetic(Triple ester formula) 10w40 oil in it. I  put in Maxima Premium4 High Performance 4 cycle (Advanced trimetallic formula) 10w40 .

Will this be a problem and should I drain and replace with the synthetic oil?

Says its good for "integrated transmissions" - I guess it depends if this also means wet clutches. but then again, the first one doesn't say anything about wet clutches either.  :empathy:

Just checked on line and you will be fine. Designed for motorcycle engines air or water cooled, transmissions and wet clutches. Don't worry go for a ride. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, I'll run it as it is for now and see how it performs.
