Title: Relocate rear turn signals
Post by: Tuxracer on September 21, 2009, 12:00:45 PM
I need to move the rear turn signals back to accomodate some soft saddlebags with a passenger (the wife doesn't like to stay home). I was looking at this bracket and wondered if anyone has any other ideas? I'm sure someone with the tools could fabricate one very easily LOL :sarcastic:

I just used some old muffler hanger I had laying around.  I cut it to length and put a 90* bend in it and lined up the holes. I had to widen them up on the blinker side to get the blinker to mount on the hanger.  I used to seperate pieces for each side, I think if I were to do it again I might try using one piece and bend the ends to fit.  I also took off the blinker stalk and just mounted the blinker end.  It worked out great and there was pleny of wire to plug everything back in as original.

Later... :bye2:

My bike has the stock signals installed in the license bracket. It was that way when I got the bike.  It moved the signals back and inboard. If you look at the bracket you will see where they should go. I've put saddle bags toward the back there was room for a passenger, but I had trouble keeping the bags off the tire.

This is what I came up with for edits:

That said, I am re-thinking this policy.

Rossco,

I would have fixed the pics for you; but the URLs you posted were secure files.  You were logged into your photo uploading/sharing place or somewhere.

Here are some quick tips on posting photos:

You'll figure it out...many of us had the same problem initially too!
