Title: Delkevics and fit
Post by: Nimbus on April 10, 2013, 01:49:43 PM
So I ordered from Delkevic a set of 350mm stainless silencers and link pipes. When I went to install, found the link pipes were 2" on both ends. Should be 1-3/4" on the collector and 2" for the muffler. They first told me I had been sent the right pipes, and that I should send pictures, which I did. They then said I need carbon fibre spacers and normally not supplied but they would send me some, (still waiting) :ireful: Not sure the fit will be as nice as I have seen on this site. May just install them on my second naked to be soon a cafe FJ.

I bought the collector only and it did not come with gaskets.  Ended up finding them on Ebay in UK.

How about some pictures of your new Delkevic when your done?
Will be changing mine after this season, and will either go Delkevic or full out on one of Randy's systems..
Cheers

So finally received the carbon gaskets after a two week wait. I had intended to mount the Delkevics on my touring FJ but there is no way to fit properly being the stock aluminum that has the foot pegs on is in the way. Also the angle goes up higher than my GIVI luggage. So I mounted on my naked FJ, needed to make a bracket for the muffler clamp 1.75" back. I must say they look awesome on my setup and sound great. If one was to shorten the link pipe a couple of inches then maybe it would work with stock bike. I am reluctant to recommend these units. If I can gets some pictures I will post.

You may be reluctant to recommend them but plenty of people here have them and love them.
What I did was swap the mid pipes (R/L)
You lose the centre stand but it makes them a much better fit. My bike is standard and I had no problems.
This also gives you the option of having them quite low.

Mounting them this way I could have had them lower than this.

Hi, Noel switching L to R ? they are just mirror images of themselves, not sure how that would change things. My link pipes were 2" on both ends, requiring the carbon spacer they sent, I am thinking I got the wrong link pipes. If I try and lower the pipes they stick out at an ugly angle.  :dash2:
