:hi: My name is Chris, and I have just found this site after buying yet another FJ12. It looks as though there arn't many areas that haven't been covered already but I couldn't find anything relating to better mirrors. my standard ones just show me my own elbows. I think I read somewhere that 1200 suzy Bandit mirrors are a much better item, has anyone done this mod.? cheers.Bye the way, I am in England, near the city of Coventry.
Welcome Chris ! There are some other mirrors out there but I will let some else with more experence than me give you some options. I am still using the stock mirrors.
Lots of good information here and owners from all over the world. Check out the FILES section also.

Welcome to the group Chris. What year is your 1200?
Mirrors wise, most popular mirror choice other than stock is CBR mirrors. Here is a link to what years to look for.

:hi:Hello Fred, I live near Coventry in England. Me and my wife live on a 60' canalboat. the bike is a 1990 3cv, which I bought off Ebay, Its last owner was a farmer, he had it for 4 years and kept it in a cold damp barn, so cosmetically she has suffered, but a major service and new Hagon rear shock, and she is singing as sweet as only a well sorted FJ can.I will chase up that link, cheers Chris.
Welcome Chris. Depending on what year you have, you might want to include a wedge shaped piece under the CBR mirror base.
FJmonkey, where is the write up on the little mirror wedges you dreamed up?? They improved my line of sight quite a bit on my '89.

Kurt :hi: Thanks for the welcome Kurt, what a fantastic site. This will be my third FJ, The first one I got in exchange for an old 1200 shovelhead HD years ago, but that turned out to be a crashed repaired bike and it turned out the frame was a little bent, tthen I swapped my son a Triumph Daytona (Hinckley version) for his FJ and finally I bought the current 3CV on Ebay. It was /is a bit tatty round the edges but has some good upgrades, Remus 4 into 1, outback seat, old style Krauser luggage set and a rentec handlebar conversion. I have just added a pair of R1 bluespot calipers, a new hagon rear shock and a thing called a Tortuno chain oiler which does not rely on vacuum or electrics to operate. Looking forward to getting some miles in on the old girl now. cheers .
:hi: Hey Chris, welcome to the crazy gang hang out mate :good:

:hi: To be truthfull I have probably only done a couple of hundred miles since it was fitted. the winter here in Englang is never ending this year. Me and the missus are going to be touring around Devon and Cornwall from next wednesday for 2 weeks so will get a better feel for the whole bike in general. Really looking forward to it, just got to keep well wrapped up, the temperatures are still crap. :wacko1:
