Title: clutch slave

Took off my clutch slave and front sprocket cover to install new sprocket and had it sit like this for a few days waiting parts.  Now after reinstalling I have no pressure at lever. I took slave off and put on twice, thought maybe I misaligned slave on the actuating rod. I assume a re-bleed is in order[ If not please let me know].  Question is why would this happen? Would the lack of pressure on the clutch slave piston from the actuating rod do this? Clutch worked perfect before.

After you reinstalled the slave, did you check the fluid in the M/C? When the slave sits off the bike, the spring pushes out the piston and which is only held in by the dust boot.

If the fluid was low, you now have air in the system. Also if it was that low, the fluid is leaking somewhere and it is most likely the slave cylinder seal.

Hmmmm,  Wonder if the removal and replacement of the slave allowed the slave piston to extend to a part of the bore where it wasn't fully sealed and some air got past the seal.  (sorry for sentence length).
Re-bleeding should get it working again, at least for a while. 
You may need to tie the lever to the bar for a night as well.
Watch this carefully for leaks as you are probably just about needing to re-build the slave.

But wrt punctuation, I don't see where I erred.
Certainly these terms can be mis-construed but where and how should my punctuation be changed?

so I re-bled and works fine now.  Thanx for all the replies, joke included. I should have said mc and slave rebuilt 4000 mi ago.-8 months ago. There was no leakage I could find at slave piston or mc and fluid level was adequate.  I was surprised to see how dirty fluid was-dark grey-metallic looking-so dark I could not see thru it as it drained thru the clear hose to my container. Must have been in the lines as i cleaned mc and slave for rebuild.  Got all that out now, but I think I found the problem. The slave bleed nipple was still venting a very small amount of fluid after shut off. I remember that happened when I rebuilt the system before, but tightened down nipple to get it to stop then and now. But I think I would like to put in a new nipple?  Also I never put Teflon tape on the threads of this nipple and previously had some leakage around threads until I tightened down more. Today the leakage was thru the hole in the end, not the threads. I would like to have the nipple seal better so I don't have to tighten so much as slave threads are just aluminum. Does anyone make a better nipple?

Right, been meaning to pick up some for my car and forgot about using them for my bike.  Thanks a bunch. OEM replacements are $10 each. Russell ~$10/pair.

G'day, I have also removed my Engine Sprocket Cover to send it away for recoating after I found almost all of the paint had been washed away over the years with leaky clutch fluid. I thought it might have been the Bleeder Valve but the piston seal looks like it needs replacing.
I'll see how a good clean and bleed goes first as I'm really hangin out to ride my bike. Although I'll probably get the cleaning bug and pull it all apart again and order a kit from Randy. Might make it feasable and order some engine bars and a couple of spin on filters. Just don't tell Lesley.
